Sarah turns 7

Sarah had a small party with 3 friends from her kindergarten. Friendships have been difficult for her because of her strong language delays. She is a very loyal friend. She has had terrible trouble not understanding how other kids could not be 100% loyal to her. Not everyone takes friendship so seriously. For example one day she plays with a child at school, and the next day that child wants to play with someone else. How dare they? That's been hard to explain to her.
It was so sweet to watch Sarah with her friends. One of the kids was a tiny little 4 year old girl. Sarah had her arm around this girl and she cared for her in the sweetest way. She would make an awesome big sister! We try not to over do it with our kids. We want them to appreciate what they have. With adoptive kids simpler is better. Sarah spent the first 4 years of her life in an orphanage. She hardly ever went outside. They never even took her to a zoo or a store. It is so much better for her to have a simple life. This was her first friend party. It was great!
