China News

I got this mail from CHI about the changes in the CHINA program...

The CCAA has just issued a notice to us of changes in the Waiting Child Program. Things are going to get better for the children who wait the longest!!

The highlights are as follows:

The children who wait longer than 2 months on the list become Special Focus Children. These children have more relaxed requirements. Families now have 6 months instead of 3 to get a dossier together and to the CCAA after matching.

More children will be assigned to individual agency lists per request of the agency.

Families who adopt a Special Focus Child are allowed to adopt TWO children at the same time. The other child can be healthy or special needs. The children can be adopted at the same time OR the CCAA will allow the two separate adoptions as long as they occur within 12 months of each other.
