*There are more than 143 million orphans worldwide. *There are more than 800,000 children that go through America's foster care system each year. *More than 33% of Americans have considered adoption, no more than 2% have actually adopted. *In 2001, nearly 159 million Americans identified themselves as Christians. Only 127,000 adoptions took place. Nearly 50% of those were stepparent adoptions leaving approximately 142,873,000 children still needing families.
