Hair Matters

HERE is an article from Rainbow kids about the care of a black child’s hair. It basically says white people do not understand how to care for a black child’s hair, and we (white folks) do not understand how important this is. I had 4 black room mates and I know that hair care and nail care was very important. I'm a "wash and go" kind of girl, but I know I just could not leave my black daughters hair uncared for. It sends a very bad signal. This is one way I could honor the culture of my child...if I adopted a black child. I use the term black because they could be a child from Africa, Haiti, America etc.
