Happy Earth Day!

It's Earth day number 40! Did you know having a garden is good for the environment. Most of our food travels 3,000 miles to get to the store. Food grown at home has a pretty small carbon foot print. Try growing an African sack garden if you don't have much space. I'm planting my potatoes in sacks today. I found a cool variety of potatoes seeds on e-bay. I have blood red potatoes and even blue potatoes. I'll post photos later. Gardens are great for kids, and they don't need to be hard to manage. Even buckets or other containers can be used. Grow your own food...you never know when you'll need the skill! And the good news is it's very good for the Earth!
